4 Weddings and... another wedding... oh and one more...

I can only think of one couple that I know in my group of friends who got married before 2009. It's really quite incredible. This year so far I've been to 5 weddings, and tomorrow I'll go to my 6th and its beginning to feel like the year when everyone turns 21 and you're at a party every weekend.

Don't get me wrong. It's been a beautiful year and there are very few things that fill me with happiness more than seeing my friends on what is often the happiest day of their lives. I'm just wondering what it is about 2009 that has spurned this onslaught of happiness. Could it be that many are hitting 30+ and see it as their last chance? A number of unexpected pregnancies we just don't know about yet? Or maybe there's just something in the water...

Either way I'd like to wish all the happiness in the world to Paul and Ele (picture above) who were married last weekend in Sicily and to Hally and Kirsty whose wedding I'll attend tomorrow. That goes for all the other lovely friends I know who got married this year... keep drinking the water! :)
